About this cabin rental
The cabin features a propane gas fireplace and hardwood floors throughout. The first floor has a living room, a separate dining area, and a large breakfast bar. The downstairs bedrooms are both spacious, one with a queen bed and the other with a day bed plus twin trundle. There is a full bath on the first floor.
The spacious upstairs primary bedroom has a queen-sized bed. The master bath features custom tilework and an oversized soaking tub with a separate shower. The loft area offers a double futon and double hide-a-bed in addition to a comfortable sitting area.
The cabin is located close to many outdoor activities in the Okanogan National Forest and the Harts Pass area. During the winter months, snowmobile, snowshoe, or cross-country ski from the front door. Although Cedar Creek Cabin is not located on the groomed ski trail system, it's only 3 miles from the nearby MVSTA cross-country ski trails and can often be reached by skiing down a path made by snowmobiles along the dried riverbed. Snowmobile enthusiasts can take off from the front door and sled to Harts Pass and into the Okanogan National Forest.
EXTREMELY IMPORTANT YEAR ROUND TRAVEL INFORMATION--READ BEFORE BOOKING A RESERVATION:
1) It is the responsibility of the guest to have travel plans in place to travel either over the North Cascades via Highway 20 OR to travel over Stevens Pass through Leavenworth OR to travel I-90 over Snoqualmie to Blewett Pass through Wenatchee and then up the Columbia River to the Methow Valley. If one route is closed, it is YOUR responsibility to make alternative travel plans. NO REFUNDS will be given at any time of the year simply because an alternate route must be taken, which adds additional travel time. Highway 20 is closed in the winter, and mountain passes can be closed at any time of the year due to wildfires, rockslides, or other events. Directions over all the routes will be sent to you 3 days before your arrival. Make sure to check the pass reports (and they can change while you are en route) and print out the directions before you leave.
2) Trail Access/Closure Information:
If you are coming to hike, bike, or ski on a trail or system of trails which happen to be closed before or during your stay, NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN because of this. Trail closures can occur at any time due to fire, rockslides, mudflows... and we have no control over them. There are many hiking and biking trails of various kinds in the Methow Valley. If access to the North Cascades is closed via Hwy 20 for any reason, NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN because of this. There are beautiful hikes in and around our valley that we would be happy to recommend.
INTERNET POLICY..PLEASE NOTE:
**We strive to provide the best internet service we can get here in the very rural Methow Valley. Internet speeds vary throughout the valley, and outages or tech issues beyond our control can occur; for these reasons, NO REFUNDS are given if the internet is problematic. We also do not guarantee that the internet will meet your work/school needs. Should you have an issue with internet service, please send us a message through VRBO describing the problem. We will then contact you to troubleshoot. If the issue is not resolved, we will then contact the internet provider and/or homeowner. Please note... our valley is very rural, and getting service personnel to fix things in a timely manner can be challenging. We rent lodging, not office space.
Public internet is available at the Winthrop library, with enhanced internet speed (in the parking lot or inside the library). Alternatively, for a fee you can go to the Dropzone in downtown Winthrop. Thank you for your understanding!
IMPORTANT WINTER INFORMATION :
**Should you travel to the Methow during the winter months, it is important to understand that you must be prepared for winter driving(keep chains, shovel...in the car) and all the inconveniences it causes you and the community you are visiting. The weather can be extreme, with heavy snowfall, unexpected technical issues, frozen pipes, and impassable roads/driveways. If it snows while you are here, you will have to wait for plow service, just like everyone else in the valley. There are a limited number of plow companies, and neither the Methow Reservations nor the owners of the house control the plow companies' schedules. They have many different contracts and many miles of roads and driveways to plow. If a plow person or a snow shoveler shows up to clear any area around the house, please do not argue with them or turn them away. Move your vehicles if asked. Your cooperation and patience are required, especially after any significant snow accumulation. Should you get stuck, you can call Classic Towing in Twisp, WA.
**Propane Fireplace--should there be tech issues or the propane fireplace upon your arrival, please send a message through Airbnb. Methow Reservations and the owner will try to troubleshoot and remedy the problem. If the problem requires a part or there is an issue with the propane company that may take longer than your stay, NO REFUNDS will be given.
