About this house rental
Note: Rates are for 6 guests. Extra guests $20 per night each. Centrally located community of Serra Mesa, sometimes called 'Birdland' because all the streets are named after birds. It is a residential neighborhood just north of Mission Valley, 1/2 mile from the entrance to Interstate 163 that connects to other major freeways, and about a ten minute drive to most attractions, downtown San Diego, Balboa Park, the zoo, Sea World, Qualcomm Stadium, Petco Park, Old Town, Seaport village, and San Diego International airport (SAN). It is 20 minutes to the Tijuana border and 30 minutes to Lego land, the Wild Animal Park, and several casinos. This is great central location.
House has 4 bedrooms. Bedroom next to the Master bedroom doubles as a office with a quality futon if needed for sleeping and has a door to the back yard. Master bedroom and fourth bedrooms both have private baths. Main bath has a claw foot tub that came from Hotel San Diego.

Pool is a nice sized pool with 9 ft deep end, A safety fence and self closing gate. Pool is solar heated and 9 months of year requires no gas heat. To heat pool to 80 degrees Nov - Mar with gas there is a $75 per day fee
Parking is in carport and always plenty of street parking. Even if you have a boat or trailer there is street around corner that has plenty of room and neighbor has security camera watching that street.

Pool was fantastic, can’t beat the location. Literally close to everything. John was super helpful when needed and quick to respond. Will for sure stay here again.

5 adults, 2 kids (10 & 6) and a dog stayed for 5 nights. It’s not a fancy, deluxe accommodation but overall, it was a positive experience. The shower off the bunk bed room got poor marks from 3 adults. The bed in the back bedroom was way too soft for us, but our shower was great! There is limited space for groceries in the kitchen, but we made do. The World Cup was on during our stay, but we could not find a single channel playing a single game. Oh well, we played in the pool instead. It was great, although at least 3 floaties did not hold air. We also enjoyed the hot tub and the walkable neighborhood. There’s an elementary school nearby that had two playgrounds. Bonus! The hosts provided pool towels, laundry facilities with products, games and plenty of cooking / dining equipment. The gas grill was another welcome feature. The location suited our needs very well.

We had a wonderful and comfortable experience with our family of four and little dog. The pool and jacuzzi was amazing! The location was near everything. We loved the amount of space we had and the fact that we had 3 bathrooms which made getting ready quick and easy! The laundry facilities were perfect! We can't wait to return and would love to stay in this house again. John was a great host and made everything easy for check in! We would definitely recommend staying at the cardinal house if you are in the area!
