About this house rental
On Crescent Beach and walking distance from both Old and New Harbors, this classic Block Island Cottage is a hidden treasure. One of the three bedrooms is listed as Coastal Living Magazine's "Most Romantic". The open floor plan is perfect for leisurely entertaining or just hanging out. On the grounds, Adirondack chairs surround an umbrella shaded table for lobster dinners or steaks on the grill. A hot-and-cold outdoor shower is snuggled in the flowering bushes, and you can launch a canoe or kayak at the back of the house in the tidal Harbor Pond. No need for a car, you're a stone throw from the beach and a 5 minute walk into town -- where would you rather be? Bird life is everywhere, and swimming, boogie boarding, fishing and beach-combing are right in front of Crescent Beach Cottage.

We loved staying here!Pros:1. Very convenient location - walking distance to the beach, downtown / restaurants and the market. A location.2. Pretty large - 3 bedrooms, 1.5 bath, big kitchen, living room, and the house and outdoors are very connected - we also used the outdoor shower and front ramp / yard back yard a lot.3. Great for kids - yard, distance to beach, toys (thanks!) - all great for kids.4. Very reliable and high quality internet - I took multiple work calls, used YouTube TV / Netflix - no issues5. Very safe - we kept all doors wide open all the time, bikes parked outside (not locked) - all good. The house is down a driveway from the street so there are very few people walking by other than John and Pam (owners, who live in the house next door).Things to Know Going In:1. Beach house through and through - this house is not super modern. There are some bugs and the furnishings are old. There are many nick nacks.2. You are supposed to bring your own linens and towels! This was not on my radar and they very kindly provided them. Definitely email Pam/ John in advance if you don't want to schlep linens yourself.3. The house doesn't come with shampoo / conditioner/ soap/ laundry detergent4. Limited privacy - the walls to the bedrooms do not go all the way to the ceiling and the main bedroom has a thin curtain to provide (some) privacy. This was fine for me nanny kids but my husband would not have been comfortable with this for more than 1 night.

Such a charming home in a great location. Really enjoyed it! Enjoyed our family gatherings in the great kitchen with a large round table to fit us all. Hope to be back soon!

We had a blissful week in this paradise home. The location could not be better- instant access to backyard, walk down the driveway to the beach, and down the block to downtown. The hosts were kind, hospitable, and communicative. This was a perfect stay for a family plus aunt and uncle- recommend it x 1000. We absolutely will be back!
