Very cozy cabin and a nice quiet property. Rooms a clean and comfortable. Showers are a nice perk as well. Tons of blue-Jays visited the bird feeder while we were here!

This a truly special place! I went for a few days of solitude and was exactly what I was hoping for. I do wish the road noise was not as close but it wasn’t bad. The facilities being outside was a bit to far for me being my age and having kids.. but was surprisingly clean and fresh. The rain water was easy to use with clear instructions. I’ll be going back for sure!

Beautiful off the grid cabin in the woods. Very private and very clean. So peaceful. Lovely to hear the birds singing so early in the morning

This cabin is phenomenal for a retreat. This was my second time going to this property, and it was just as amazing as the first time. The property itself is so serene, the trees are beautiful and everything is so quiet. The stars always look amazing and make it so much more beautiful. The amenities aren't fancy, but they are very very good for what the property is. The rainwater collection system does take some extra work, but it works really well and honestly adds a nice touch to the stay. The kitchen is pretty small, and in general I would recommend getting dinner out. The food in Croghan and Lowville is pretty good, and makes for nice outings. The area nearby doesn't have a whole lot of activities, but the hiking, food and overall atmosphere make it up. There are lots of outdoor activities, like hikes, rivers and state parks to visit with amazing views. The food places are various, and give a lot of great experiences like Tug Hill Vineyard or Jeb's in Lowville. The property being pet-friendly seals the deal too. Me and my fiance love going with our dog, Demi and the property is great for it. My dog is anxious, but her she has the best time. The quiet paired with the trees and plants make it the perfect place for her to explore.I really cannot recommend Mountain Laurel more. We tend to go to relax and treat ourselves, and the quiet and peaceful environment make it the perfect de-stressor.
The property offers a clean, isolated, and roomy cabin with thoughtful amenities like wood for fire pits, propane, and more. Guests enjoy the peace, quiet, and unique experience, making it a wonderful stay!

Don't get us wrong, this is a beautiful cabin away from the hustle and bustle of the city. And if we were looking to go camping this would have been a great place to rent. But we were in town for a wedding. Getting ready for a wedding at this location is not for the faint of heart.
Please be fully aware that in order to take a "heated" shower as the ad boasts you must light a propane heater and wait 15 min for it to be warm enough to shower in it. The water is rain water and therefore you cannot drink it. So be prepared to bring water bottles.
The ad also says that there is a kitchenette.. NOT SO.
They provide you with a small propane burner and a few utensils. There is NO refrigerator and no way to keep anything cold. And no real space to prepare anything.
There are NO linens so bring your own.
Also keep in mind that cell service is NON existent. We luckily brought our own Wi-Fi so we were able to make calls. But if heaven forbid there was an emergency Im not sure if you could catch a carrier pigeon fast enough to get help.
While we are talking about phones, the SOLAR power is literally only good for charging phones on the cigarette lighter that they provide. We wanted a fan to help move the air through out the cabin. So we bought a desk top oscillating fan. But the 12v solar panels werent strong enough to power it.
The scenery was great. You are literally out in the boonies. We heard more chipmunks and owls than we did people. Oh, and beware of the bears....
This hand built cabin is situated privately on 50 acres of pine woods in the Adirondack foothills. From cutting down the trees, to making the logs on our sawmill and picking up our hammer, we lovingly hand-crafted it. The cabin features a hot rainwater shower and sink; solar electricity for the lights, and a wood-burning stove. You'll find a propane cook stove inside and a barbecue grill (propane) outside. Named Mountain Laurel, the cabin is situated at the top of a hill, with beautiful shade trees, cool breezes and a great view of the pine woods. It features a queen size bed in the main living area and a full size bed in the loft. A dining area is on the main floor along with a wood burning stove with a screen that can function as a fireplace. Experience cool breezes all summer long on the full-size porch. The catwalk off the loft leads you to a balcony with a beautiful ten-mile view. The shower room is located under the cabin on ground floor level. A very neat and clean "glorified" outhouse is located in a separate building a few yards from the cabin. If you are looking for a cabin with an indoor bathroom, please check out our Lion's Den cabin HA 9143513. We are located close to access points for ATV and Snowmobile trails. Numerous lakes are a short drive away for kayaking, canoeing, swimming and fishing in the summer. In the winter, enjoy cross-country skiing, snow shoeing, hiking and snowmobiling. Snow Ridge, which boasts the first snow of the season, is thirty minutes away. We request reservations to be made at least 48 hours in advance of arrival date. Come and enjoy our back-to-nature cabin in our quiet pine woods. Inquir about the CPAP and BiPAP For set-up
