About this apartment rental
Along with my husband and family, I invite you to share the beauty of our home and cottages on Mount Desert Island, the home of Acadia National Park.
We are located in the coastal village of West Tremont, on the western side of Mount Desert Island. You can get to the parts of the park within 10 minutes and to Bar Harbor in about 30 minutes.
The Aldernest Cottage is adjoining our home overlooking Blue Hill Bay. The rocky shore front of Maine is just a short walk across the lawn. You can have your coffee in the morning sitting on the rocks while you enjoy our private, peaceful setting. In the evening you will enjoy the beautiful sunsets that will probably take your breath away.
The Aldernest Loft (upstairs apartment) has two carpeted bedrooms, one with a queen size bed and one with two twins. There is a dining room/living room area, fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom with a washer/dryer.
You will find our rates competitive and the setting incomparable. Please come, relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of our location while you are visiting Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park.

Please Remember:
1) Our Cottage is Pet Free. We have found that many returning tenants are allergic to pets so this is a "firm policy", no exceptions, please.
2) We can accommodate four people comfortably with two bedrooms, one with a queen size bed and the other with two twins. We do count children, including infants as part of the occupancy. No exceptions, please.
3) Our Cottage is Smoke Free. No smoking allowed on the premises.

I hadn't been on VBRO for a while, and wasn't aware that messages also were banners on the site, so understanding how we'd access the house was confusing. I did reach out for some support, but we figured it out. The space is nice, but there are only two chairs in the living area, besides an eating table with benches. The beds weren't the worst we've slept in, but they were hard. There is outdoor seating, and an easy path to the shore-but no beach access.The private area was clean as could be, which was appreciated. We were alone during our time there, which was great to not have to worry about infringing upon other renters downstairs.
