The apartment at Casa Scassatina, lovingly furnished for two people, is an idyllic hidden gem. It’s located away from the tourist crowds in the hills of Lucca, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, with a unique panoramic view of the small, picturesque villages nestled in the hills. The two well-known fattorie, Maionchi and Fubbiano, are within easy walking distance. Wine and olive oil tastings are available there. The famous Lucca villas “Torrigiani” and “Mansi” are nearby.
In addition to the standard amenities and well-equipped kitchen (including a Nespresso machine), guests of our air-conditioned apartment have access to a private terrace, an outdoor grill, a forno (for baking pizza), a saltwater pool with a sun deck and lounge chairs. In addition to relaxing, you can test your skills on a small bocce court. The property also features a parking space, of course.
Lucca is about 15 km away, Florence and Pisa are each about 45 km away, and the sea is about 40 km away. The Pisa and Florence airports are about 45 km away.

While the location is beautiful and the pool is excellent. Our experience did not quite match what other reviews suggested. We were the only guests during our stay, which allowed us to enjoy the stunning landscape and property. However, the apartment itself seems to be not prepared for guests. The kitchen lacked basic supplies , and although two large shower towels were provided, there were none available for the pool.

During a whirlwind tour through Europe, Scassatini was the highlight! Breathtakingly beautiful views, extremely well appointed accommodations, and the most gracious hosts we encountered in all of our travels. We hated to leave, but alas, we plan to return whenever we can. Gitta and Hardy made our whole vacation!!!❤️❤️❤️

Room was very Tuscan! The bed was very comfortable and room was so cozy. It came with a fully equipped kitchen and shower room with plentiful closet space.
We had our own privacy from the side entrance separating the main house from guest house. Parking was easy and the roads were beautiful with scenic drives coming and going from the property.
The hosts Gitta and Hardy were beyond wonderful in every way. We were running late the day of arrival and they communicated with us following up on our status hoping we were finding the place ok with detailed instructions of where to find the home and what to do once we parked.
They greeted us upon arrival and hosted us the next morning with coffee and great conversation. They shared favorite local spots to eat and visit, as well as good areas to look for properties to purchase, as we were in Italy for the first time searching for homes in Tuscany. We felt so welcome!! Our last evening there we had wine together and they gifted some of their olive oil from their land to my mother to bring home as a gift. We had coffee the next morning before we left and are looking forward to visiting again soon!!
I have to say this property exceeded our expectations. It was a dream!
We hope to come back and stay during warmer seasons to utilize they’re gorgeous pool and local wine tasting from the neighbors vineyard.
I feel as though we have gained some new friends whom are close to our hearts now.
Do not hestitate to rent this property. It was worth every penny!

Le cadre est superbe le logement est petit mais bien aménagé. Malgré de grosses chaleurs la température dans le logement reste agréable. Les hôtes sont gentils (nous les avons très peu vus).
Coté négatif, beaucoup de guêpes, frelons et moustiques ce qui rend les repas du soir à l'extérieur pratiquement impossible. Nous avons réussi à recevoir une seule chaine de télévision via un satellite qui propose essentiellement des chaines allemandes. La réception est de mauvaise qualité.
Le reste de la maison, le jardin et la piscine sont très jolis.
