About this house rental
Hiking: hiking in the Nockberge National Park. Endless possibilities in the area. Something for everyone. The area around the Falkert doesn’t require any special equipment—especially regarding footwear—or slip resistance. Therefore, the region is ideal for family walks.
Lakes in the area: Although our village is named after a lake—we recommend a dip in Falkertsee only to cool off after a sauna. The Falkertsee, at 1,850 meters above sea level, reaches temperatures of only about 12 degrees in the summer and is very cold, but it’s a refreshing dip for your feet after a long hike. However, missing out on a swim here isn’t a problem, as there are a number of other Carinthian lakes nearby: For example, Lake Afritz, Millstätter See, Ossiacher See, and the Faaker Wörthersee are literally at your feet: they’re just a 30- to 60-minute drive away.
Heidi Park: For our youngest guests and Heidi fans, there’s the Heidi Park up above. Follow the trail through the wild and romantic alpine pasture. Here you’ll encounter characters from the Heidi story. Here you’ll understand why Heidi and her friends feel so at home on the alpine pasture—because here there’s still “healthy air for little lungs”! Free admission with the Kärnten Card. If you’re planning multiple trips this summer, the Carinthia Card (all-inclusive from May through October) is available, and you can visit the thermal baths in Bad Kleinkirchkirchheim.
