About this house rental
Internet access is available for personal use; however, functionality depends on wireless coverage and weather conditions, so continuous and stable operation cannot be guaranteed.
Shopping / Urban Life: If you’re looking for a change of pace from nature, Vignone offers quick access to interesting and well-known cities such as Lugano (18 km), Como (approx. 50 km), Milan (approx. 90 km—also reachable by train from Luino in 1 hour!), or Locarno (40 km) and Ascona (45 km) on the other side of the lake. It’s also not far to the Fox Town factory outlets near Ciasso (clothing from various brands), the ALPIA chocolate factory between Ponte Tresa and Agno, or the Bassetti and Alessi factories. Luino’s Wednesday market is famous far beyond the country’s borders and is always a great place to find a nice piece of merchandise or a bargain. In addition, Luino offers a wide variety of bars, pizzerias, and restaurants to suit every taste and budget, as well as large, well-stocked supermarkets and the typical local variety of boutiques, etc.
Immediate surroundings: You can set out on a hike or bike ride right from the house. In Agra, there are two beautiful hiking trails for walks lasting about 1–2 hours each. These are the signposted trails “Giro del sole” and “Giro della luna.” A lovely bike ride takes you down the Due Cossani valley to Curiglia, a quaint little village almost at the end of the valley. From here, you can hike to various “fattorie” and enjoy a refreshing break there. A few kilometers past Curiglia, in Piero, the road ends, and the only way to continue is on foot (1,000 steps) or by aerial cableway (unfortunately not currently in operation) to Monteviasco, a sleepy little village at the edge of civilization... From here, there are beautiful hikes to enjoy. There are also several hiking trails leading up to Monte Lema starting from Due Cossani. It’s a lovely tour by bike as well. For experienced hikers, there’s a beautiful, multi-hour hike from Monte Lema to Monteviasco, following the ridges of five mountain peaks.
Swimming: The nearest beach is right below Intipunku in Colmegna. It’s just a few minutes away by car. After that, all along the lake, there are numerous small, idyllic swimming spots, coves, and beaches. The Lido in Maccagno is also lovely, and at its northern end, in Parque Giona, there are beautiful beaches shaded by magnificent old trees. There’s a heated indoor pool in Luino that’s open year-round.
