About this house rental
A rustic, listed Black Forest cottage (1732), tastefully and elegantly furnished, in a beautiful, secluded location within the Southern Black Forest Biosphere Reserve. A 2-hectare meadow with a stream and fir trees. Cozy living room with a bench, dining table, sofa, TV, and CD player; kitchen with oven and dishwasher. Plenty of dishes and cookware are provided. Dining room with a large oak table; enjoy breakfast in the morning sun in front of the kitchen. 3 cozy bedrooms (+ 1 small bedroom) with balconies and double beds. 2 bathrooms, one with a bathtub. In the basement: boiler room, sauna, and open-air shower. 1 additional restroom. Hike from one stunning view to the next, enjoy pancetta and Gutedel wine, go mountain biking, sailing, or golfing, or take a horseback ride along the Schluchsee to Schönau—or simply do nothing: listen to the babbling brook and the rustling of the fir trees, watch the birds and the breathtaking starry sky in the clear air. Pets: upon request. Please note that traditional Black Forest houses sometimes have low ceilings.
Snow removal in the yard is not possible. It’s about a 100-meter walk.
Due to lawn and garden maintenance in the summer, the owners may need to be present from time to time.
In winter, a wonderful snow-covered landscape awaits you. You can ski directly from the yard to the lift. ski circuit.
On the other hand, the path to the yard cannot be cleared when there is ice and snow, so you’ll need to walk about 100 m. You’ll have to park your car at the entrance to the dirt road.

We've visited the Black Forest several times before, but we never found a place as beautiful as this. Very secluded and private, next to a small brook and with a backyard view of cows and goats grazing on the mountains. The house is large and cozy, and it had everything we needed. People taller than 1.70m beware though: you will bump your head against the doorways. Plenty of great hiking/mountainbiking routes close by. Nearby restaurants may close their kitchen relatively early (before 20:00), so calling beforehand is advised. No delivery options. House owner Waltraut reacted quickly, friendly, and reasonably to messages.

Unser Aufenthalt im Mittelbachhof in Wieden hat uns wie immer sehr gefallen, hier passt einfach alles, das liebevoll renovierte Haus und die Lage sind einfach toll!

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt im Mittelbachhof sehr genossen. Der Hof ist geräumig und es ist alles da was man brauchen könnte. Die Vermieterin ist super nett und sehr responsiv. In der Umgebung gibt es sehr viel was man auch mit Kindern unternehmen kann - aber man kann auch sehr gut den ein oder anderen Tag im Garten des Hofes verbummeln!
