The welcome is always friendly, the rooms are good sizes and the showers are good too.
The evening meals are always excellent.
There was a comedy night on the occasion we stayed - worth every penny and a great addition to our stay.
The coffee is excellent too.
Heating in the room is controllable and efficient.
I knew about this from previous visits, but its annoying that breakfast is served from so late (9am) at weekends. This means, owing to onward travel commitments I need to leave before breakfast even starts, so I can't comment on if its good or not! It would be nice if there was a 'packed breakfast option available to cover this.
minor point #1 ... the TV is small and isnt easy to view from the bed!
minor point #2.... theres no mini fridge for milk, cold drinks etc

The rooms were done to a very high standard, excellent bed linen and towels. It was very clean.

Staff a bit lax. I think they are probably students. They aren't really on it and tend to forget what you asked for. My drink sat at the end of the bar for ten minutes in the end I went and got it myself. I have stayed there three times as it is a convenient location so I have experienced this lax service quite often, it's not a one off. The rooms are nice, food is OK, not great. Very popular I think because there's not much else around and it's convenient for visiting Lotus cars. Lots of parking.
