That it was very old, over 400 years old. The lady that ran it made every effort to help us, when we met at breakfast. My little bit of German and her bit of English was fun. She even went us a power plug with a USB connection.
Breakfast was nice, continental variety of course. So don't expect sausage and bacon.
Shower was awesome if a bit dark.
Bed was very comfy, duvet and pillows where amazing.
Arrau old town is well worth a visit by the way fantastic old buildings. Plenty of cafes and restaurants to chose from.
If you like a castle in the area is Lensburg Schloss. Well worth a trip.
Top tip for us oldies, if your hiring a car buy a C to C type charger cable. Our car didn't have usb socket. Our Swiss friends said it is common over there.
No lifts and lots of stairs, but we managed. No view to speak of. Only one plug socket in the room.
Windows in the bedroom where small and high up. Which made the room a bit gloomy.

The place was very peaceful and very close to the city center. The breakfast was delicious. The italian restaurant was very good. The staff very kind and helpful, the information provided on activities and walks was very comprehensive, and the room was comfortable.

The breakfast was lovely with a variety of fresh bread, yogurt, jams, cheese and meat. The room was clean and the beds new and comfortable.
Perhaps some of the bathroom fixtures need replacing as they are worn.
