Cassendra is a very well maintained resort. The staff are courteous and helpful, and extremely prompt with any requests.
The breakfast spread was excellent and substantial. They had sausages, eggs, pancakes, dosa with sambol, puri with aloo Gobi and dhal, a nice chicken curry, and fruits along with tea and coffee.
I would recommend this place.

Easily the best property we stayed at in Sri Lanka (across Colombo, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya). The rooms and locations are beautiful, and the service will truly exceed your expectations. We loved the provision of a ceiling fan - it's so hard to get good ventilation going to dry anything out with central air conditioning. The room service was responsive, breakfast set menu (they were not offering a buffet during our stay due to low occupancy) was excellent, and overall, Cassendra is the place to be if you want to feel truly welcome and cared for in Kandy. It's also within easy walking distance (with a steep decline though) of the truly exceptional Timber Cabin restaurant at the Hotel Rivora which we highly recommend in Kandy. Keep in mind though that this is not Kandy city center and 20-30 minute walk with very steep declines is required if you want to stroll down to the Temple of the Tooth Relic etc.
Just a minor issue that the bathroom was difficult to ventilate as there did not appear to be a fan in there.
