The best feature of Poet's Lodge is its wonderful location on the lake with easy access to the beach and water. It is a simple slope from the house to the beach with wonderful sand and gentle slope in the water. The second best feature is its screened porch. We had a puppy and this screened in porch was a great place for her to hang out and watch the world. We ate all our meals outdoors on the porch without any mosquitos or flies.
The house is dated with a museum quality stove. That did not bother us. The shower was terrific and the kitchen adequate. We would, however, recommend that the mattress in the master bedroom be replaced and the wooden adirondack chairs, or better quality adirondack chairs be added to the porch as the plastic ones were difficult to sit in.
We very much enjoyed staying in the Poet's Lodge and would consider staying there again.

Poets Lodge is a wonderful location to enjoy days in the sun on the large grassy lawn or you can jump right into the lake for an invigorating swim. The camp is comfortable with a warm rustic character and a working antique stove/oven. The nice screened porch that faces the lake is a perfect spot to enjoy the breeze while watching the sunset. There is also generous room for parking. Being so close to Haines Landing and the OG makes grabbing a sandwich then putting your boat in the water really easy.

This is great cabin in a perfect location and within walking distance to BMC. Upon arrival we found the property to be very clean. The extra half bathroom is a great addition. The folks at Morton and Furbish were incredibly kind and immediately responded to all our requests. With that said, the property would really benefit for some updating, including the replacement of the porch screening, the box springs mattresses (all very old), some painting and the replacement of the wallpaper in the primary bathroom which is showing signs of deterioration and what appears to be a small area of mold. The Kitchen needs new pots and pans with sufficient silverware to accommodate eight guests. The addition of lawn chairs also be would be huge plus. Despite all of these concerns, we would highly recommend this property to others.

The spot on the lake is amazing with a nice lawn and wonderful sandy beach area and nice dock. The fire pit is very nice near the water but we were disappointed to learn that the owner no longer supplies firewood for renters and we had to purchase our own. Luckily Morton & Furbish was amazing to work with and helped us arrange that for our visit. The house itself is dated and really should come with better kitchenware (eg. plates, bowls, silverware, utensils, pots/pans, etc.) for renters to use. They are all very old and frankly inadequate for a week long rental. The stove is very old but we got by with a camping stove that we used on the picnic table in the screened in porch. The beds are very old and not very comfortable so just be prepared. All that said, the sunsets from the front porch and firepit area are absolutely stunning. I just wish the owner would invest a bit more into the property to make it a more pleasant and comfortable stay for renters given how amazing the location of the house is.
