I had a very pleasant stay at Athlos Hotel in Thessaloniki and would gladly recommend it to anyone looking for comfortable accommodation at a reasonable price.
The hotel offers spacious rooms, comfortable accommodation and a peaceful atmosphere, making it a great place to relax after a busy day. Breakfast was generally good, with a reasonable variety of options, although the fruit juice was disappointing, tasting rather diluted and more like flavoured water than actual juice.
The staff deserve special recognition for their friendliness, helpfulness and willingness to go the extra mile. One particularly appreciated gesture was allowing us to check in exceptionally early, at around 9:00 AM, despite the standard check-in time being 3:00 PM. This flexibility made a real difference to our stay and demonstrated genuine consideration for guests.
There are a few areas that could be improved. The floor of our room was not particularly clean upon arrival, although this was a minor issue and did not significantly affect our overall experience. The shower enclosure is also quite small, making it difficult to shower comfortably without splashing water onto the bathroom floor and even into the corridor outside the bathroom. A larger or better-designed shower enclosure would significantly improve the experience. The standard check-in time of 3:00 PM is relatively late, although the exceptional flexibility shown by the staff in our case more than made up for this.
Regarding the location, the hotel is somewhat far from Thessaloniki city centre, which may be a disadvantage for travellers primarily interested in sightseeing and exploring the city. However, this also helps explain the hotel's competitive pricing. In my particular case, the location was actually ideal, as I was attending a professional seminar at the National School of Judiciary in Kalamaria.
Overall, Athlos Hotel offers excellent value for money, spacious rooms, a quiet environment and, above all, genuinely welcoming hospitality. While there is room for improvement in a few details, these minor shortcomings do not overshadow the positive experience.

Clean, modern, good breakfast, nice view

The hotel is located on the edge of Kalamaria with nothing around. Walking to a nearby cafe takes 15 minutes and there is only breakfast in the hotel, no restaurant or bar where one could get food during the day or in the evening
The room itself is decent and the view to the sunset is quite beautiful
