Beautiful spot, deep in the woods. Very rural - the water is on a well! Which means when we had no power for two of our days we had no water. Which means our friends wound up getting a hotel room so we would all have access to a bathroom and shower. The power came back on sooner than we thought it might and the property manager gave us s partial refund which was nice. Heads up: the driveway is unpaved with some deep ruts. Drive on the median and edge if you have a low undercarriage. Also use the bug spray they provide when you go into the woods - we found several ticks. There’s a lovely little spot on the pond at the end of the road and then a mile to the right of that spot is Sides Nature Preserve, a great, easy dog walk. Also sit on the back porch - they put out birdseed in the feeders so there’s lots of birds to see.

I think everything was very nice! I love the house! Although we didn’t need it initially, the a/c wasn’t working and we couldn’t figure out why. Our second day we needed it just a bit because it got pretty warm those next two days. Our host/property manager Laurie was great, helpful and understanding and very apologetic. Through NO fault of her own, nor the owner’s, Laurie was able to get someone to come take a look and unfortunately the part didn’t make it during our stay. We did good though! I closed the blinds and drew the curtains closed to try to keep the sun out on the one side of the house and we continued with our activities. We had used the fans that stay at the house and they helped keep the air moving to keep cool. Everything worked out just fine! I have no complaints!! We all continued to have a good time. The very top ceiling fan did somehow lose its remote. I concluded that a previous guest might’ve accidentally lost it somewhere. Hopefully that can be later on. Again, I have no complaints! The only thing I would let future visitors know, the cell service is not good at all. Texting for me was ok between Laurie and I but phone calls are a struggle. Sometimes my phone said sos instead of any service bars. WiFi was wonderful no problems. That’s all I can think of…Oh, we were made aware early on that the ice maker in the fridge doesn’t make ice, but you can put ice in it and still use the door to fill your glass…which wasn’t a big dealEnjoy your stay also!

Nice house. Kitchen could use more cookware. There was a moldy smell in the basement section of the house which made it hard to occupy that part of it, so that should be made very clear on the description of it.
