What a pleasant surprise this place was! I found myself needing to stay an extra night in Bloemfontein and made a very last-minute booking, probably around 6:20 pm, with the intention of checking in shortly afterwards.
The property looked so beautiful in the pictures that I genuinely wondered whether it was too good to be true. Well, I’m happy to say it was every bit as beautiful in person!
From the moment I drove into the neighbourhood, I was impressed. It’s a lovely, quiet area, and the property itself is absolutely stunning. The beautifully manicured gardens, landscaping and overall aesthetic immediately caught my attention.
Even walking towards reception was a lovely experience. There was this beautiful fragrance in the air, possibly from diffusers, which made the space feel so inviting. The reception area was just as impressive, beautifully designed and tastefully decorated. You can tell that a lot of thought has gone into the presentation of the property.
My room was equally lovely. I believe I booked a standard room, but it was more than spacious enough for me, beautifully presented, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The bed was particularly comfortable, and I had a wonderful night’s sleep. The bathroom was generously sized, which I really appreciated, and just as clean and well maintained as the rest of the room.
The room also had a TV, a small fridge, complimentary water and milk, which were thoughtful touches. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the entire experience felt very pleasant.
Another huge plus was how peaceful it was. The neighbourhood was quiet, and I couldn’t hear any disturbances from outside or neighbouring rooms during the night. I slept really well, which is something I value immensely when travelling.
Unfortunately, I didn’t get to try the breakfast, although I would have loved to.
The only real discomfort was a lingering smell in the room that reminded me of recently varnished wooden floors. I can’t say for certain whether the floors had been treated recently, but the smell was quite noticeable throughout the night and a little uncomfortable.
There was also no iron or ironing board in the room, although I had my own steamer, so this wasn’t an issue for me. I also couldn’t find a hairdryer or microwave in the room. These weren’t major drawbacks, but they’re worth mentioning for anyone who may need them.
